During the combat in German towns in 1945 American tankers faced a new kind of danger - tank destroyers attacking their vehicles from a very short distance. One of the ways of making the hollow charges weaken was the German tankers idea. The tanks were covered with a thick layer of concrete, which protected the front and side armoured-plates.
