A towed version of 17pdr anti-tank gun was used in British Army in 1942. Because of its weight (more than two tons) it was unwieldy to use in the battlefield, but it was perfect as armament of British AFV, specially famous Sherman Firefly. In ordnance specialists opinion it was equal to German gun KwK42 in armour penetration and accuracy.
